Big Mike's Fishing Charters - Coming Soon

TIPS FOR A BETTER TRIP

FISHING EQUIPMENT & LICENSES
All fishing equipment is available for rental and will be arranged by us, unless you have your own or wish to handle this yourself. A California fishing license is required for all persons 16 years of age or older on all trips and can be purchased at the landing, or we can take care of this for you.

FOOD
Most boats have a galley, with plenty of food and drinks available to purchase. On small boats without a galley, food and beverages can be made available to your liking, unless you have made other arrangements. No ice chests are allowed on the larger boats that have a galley.

KEEPING YOUR CATCH
Big Mike's Fishing Charters promotes catch and release, especially calico or spotted bay bass fishing. Most species are excellent table fare and can sustain a take fishery within legal limits. Your fish can be filleted on the boat for an additional small charge. We would suggest you bring an ice chest (left in your vehicle) to put your fish in, especially if you have a long distance to go.

TIPPING
Tipping is not mandatory, although it's customary. Our captains, crew and cooks are an integral part of the boats, from the hours of preparation and cleaning before and after the charter to helping anglers with all the fish duties throughout the day. Our captains and crews work very hard to give you a great experience and a token of appreciation goes a long way. Please keep this in mind while you enjoy a worry-free "Fishing Adventure."

WHAT TO BRING
Hat or cap
Warm jacket
Comfortable clothing
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Rubber soled shoes or boots, if possible
Medication for seasickness, if needed or you're unsure

WHAT NOT TO BRING
Illegal drugs or paraphernalia, firearms or alcoholic beverages. We will not allow you or your party to board our vessels with any of the aforementioned items. Should you be in possession of any firearm or illegal substance while underway, our captains are instructed to turn back toward port and radio the Coast Guard and local authorities. In addition, our captains will not allow passengers that are intoxicated or under the influence aboard the vessels. There are alcoholic beverages available to purchase on most boats, but please try and refrain from excess during your trip. We want to make it a pleasurable experience for everyone.

SAFETY
Wearing open-toed shoes or sandals is discouraged for safety reasons.
